As far back as I can remember I have been Movin & Shakin! Growing up I was 1 of 6, there is a 10-4 year gap b/w myself and my 4 older brothers & sisters. My mom, "Danielle you would be in your high chair and you were very vocal that you wanted to be over where your older brothers and sisters were & doing what they were doing.....but you were so little I didn't know how you were going to keep up." My father all growing up, "Danielle......sit still!" I don't like to sit still, I like to move and shake.
"Movin & Shakin" to me is taking action & pushing yourself to the next level in everything that you do & in all aspects of life. I'm not saying that it's easy or that it doesn't come with many fears and obstacles b/c it does. I am saying that as I have worked through all the fears and obstacles in my own life to get to my goals it has helped me to create Sweat Training & a Fitness Program that has been able to help people accomplish their fitness goal of attaining a lean/toned body rapidly.
When I was little, 8yrs old my mom put me in the gym, I was doing too much moving & shaking at home. I spent 5 years as a gymnast training increasingly more and more each year. Starting from 6 to 9 to 12 to 25 hours per week year round. The hours & hours of time devoted each week to learning ballet, choreography, tumbling, flexibility, flipping over/on apparti, competing, training camps, & total body strength & endurance training was the foundation for my career I just didn't know it yet. Training in the gym I also learned the positive high energy, team camaraderie, devotion, mental toughness, & the daily life balance it took to accomplish a goal.
I started coaching gymnastics when I was 17. I worked my way up from tumblebees, to recreational, to pre-team, to team, to the lead coach of 60 athletes & 3 coaches by the time I was 23. I honed my coaching skills from my experience as a gymnast, from every interaction with every athlete I coached, every parent that needed to talk to me, & every coach in that gym. After 11 years in the sport, attaining my BS in Health Promotion & getting certified as an ACSM Personal Trainer I was ready for the next challenge.
I became an athlete again, competing in Figure Competitions & started my own company, Sweat Training. My 20s for me were about following my passion, working hard, & laying down the foundation for the rest of my life. I was going to work hard to do what I loved so that I could create opportunities for myself, open more doors in all aspects of life to many new experiences, create unforgettable moments, & have full creative/lifestyle/family freedom in my day to day life.
I trained for 3 years as a Figure Athlete with Rick, my trainer. The goal of a Figure Athlete is to be lean, toned, symmetrical, and for me to compete at about 7% body fat. Rick was a trainer before there were trainers & he runs the only 2 Figure/Bikini/Bodybuilding shows in Cincinnati. For 3 years I trained with him making my body more lean/toned/symmetrical, honing my nutrition, getting my body fat measured every week, & competing in 2 figure shows. With all this I gained the knowledge & experience of how to take my body to peak level conditioning.
I sought as much knowledge and experience as possible in this sport:
1. I attend The Olympia, The Super Bowl of the sport
2. I participated in The 05' Ms. Fitness Olympia's Fitness Camp
3. I participated in The 06' & 07's Ms. Figure Olympia's Fitness Camp
4. I attended the Arnold Expo/Competition & countless other shows
5. Since 06' when I wasn't competing, I was helping run the athletes backstage at The Monster Mash & Cincinnati Figure/Bikini/Bodybuilding Shows (and continue to help)
Sweat Training Program ......Since 06'
My years of experience & knowledge as an athlete/coach/trainer has allowed me to design & create an efficient/effective Training Program. The Sweat Training Program gets my clients an amazing lean/toned body as quickly as possible....imagine the covers of Shape Magazine & Men's Health.
Training clients is the easiest part of my day, and probably the most challenging part of theirs. I created Sweat Training's Personal Training & Indoor Urban BootCamps for the Urbanite that works hard, trains hard, and enjoys the social scene. Sweat clients are about 50/50 Male/Female, former athletes, who want high energy, fast paced, high intensity, constant challenge, camaraderie, & support. It's A-mazing to positively effect peoples lives and help them attain a goal that effects so many aspects of their life........just as it has mine.
Sweat Training Movin & Shakin
Everything about Sweat has been a creative, raw work ethic, life experience, gut instinct/risk taking decision that has grown as a brand as I have grown. I was able to expand Sweat Training during the recession, outgrowing my first location & relocating to Downtown Cincinnati in 10'...... creating the perfect pairing of brand, location, gym & clientele. For me being able to create such an efficient/effective training program in the gym has allowed me to continue to grow & challenge myself outside of the gym. I have begun helping more people as a fitness expert writing for publications, blogging/videos, guest blogging, radio appearances, collaborating with other businesses, & soon growing Sweat's Online Store to include Sweat Training's Fitness/Nutrition Program.
Sweat's clients/athletes are movin & shakin seeking/attaining lean & toned fitness lifestyles just as much as I'm moving & shaking in my fitness/business lifestyle.
