I have been in the gym since I was 8 years old as an athlete, and started as a coach when I was 17, needless to say I'm like a kid in a candy store when it comes to training in new gyms. One gym where I train is in The Lofts at Shillito Place on 7th Street in Downtown Cincinnati.
The building used to be a department store and has an amazing art deco interior. The massive elevators in the building still have all the store departments listed on the floors, it is common for residents to tell you what department their in rather than what floor their on. My favorite department....Santa Land.
This gym is lots of fun to play in with a basketball court you can do tons of running drills: Chasse, High Knees, Grapevine, Skipping, Squat Jumps, Animal Runs (all fours), Single Leg Sprints, etc.
There is plenty of Cardio and Resistance Equipment. So you can definitely do a combination of weights and machines.
For this Gym I would do two different exercises then do 2-3 Running drills in the basketball area and repeat. Do 3 sets of each circuit. I would finish with 10 sprints in the basketball area at the end. Once you sprint walk back to the other end and sprint back immediately.
This gym also has a lil baby Trampoline, this is more for people who want to have some fun or have ankle/knee issues....takes the pressure off the joint and strengthens balance. You could use this for cardio between sets.
